Julie Mae Wright Johnson
Stephen and Dollie Wright were my great grandparents. Daniel and Lizzie were my grandparents. Stephen (son of Daniel & Lizzie) and Nannie Beatrice Stewart were my parents.
I was born April 10, 1931, in Louisa, Virginia.
My siblings, Erlene (Erden), Daphne (Neg), Carl (Man Pig), Charlotte (Puddin) (deceased) and Rober (Steve).
I was married to Alfred Zander Johnson (deceased) and we have six children, Cheryl Denise (husband Alonzo Hart), Beatrice Nadine (husband Calvin Ashcraft), Eunice Salome, Pamela Kay, Alfred Zander (wife Shalonda "Shay"), and Stephen Lorenzo (wife Evelyn).
I have 12 grandchildren, Glenice (Roe), Michael (Mike), Stephen Jr. (Lil' Steve), Timothy, Gary, Alonzo III (Zoe), Ricardo (Rico), India, Demetrius, Angel, Mekhi, and Amaris.
I have 4 great grandchildren, Kalynn, Kasey, Mariah, and Denise
I am blessed with so many childhood memories, but the one thing that sticks out in my mind was my ability to be a great leader. According to my sister, Neg, who reminds me constantly of all the things I got her into because she followed me or did what I told her to do. For example, after meals, I would get up from the table, touch her and nod for her to join me at our meeting place, the johnny (johnnie) house. For those of you not familiar with that term it is the outside toilet. We would just stand outside and talk. I guess that would even explain why we married brothers.
I am so honored to be a part of this family; the closeness we share in good and tough times lets me know with love you can make it through anything. I hope our children will always remember that God should always be first in your life but never forget your family, because they will be there when all others walk away.
